Blood donation

Why to give his blood ?

It's very important to give his blood to save the road accident victims and act of God victims ! 8800 blood donation are necessary in France each year.

Who can give his blood ? 
So the donor can give his blood:

- If he is in good health
- If he is between 18 and 65 years old
- If he weights at least 50 kilo.

Where can people give blood ?

<--The French blood organisation have many permanent centres and mobiles blood collection are organized in firms or in a bus.
 

How many permanent centres are there in France?
There are 154.

What quantity of blood do they take each time and who takes the blood? 
The nurse takes 450 ml in a blood pocket.

How many times a year can people give blood?

Men can give up to 6 times in one year and women only do 4!

What happens when people give blood?

1- First the donor must do an administrative inscription

2- Then he must have a medical examination where he gives his medical history in order to know if he is allowed to give his blood !

3- there is the sampling: the nurse takes the blood in a blood pocket 

4- Finally he can eat, drink water and have a rest to gather strength ! It's natural that he is a little tired after the donation.
- He  can come back his home but he mustn't do too many efforts during some hours. Now he must wait eight weeks before doing an other blood donation.

But where does the blood go?

1-  The nurse first takes a small sample of blood to do some tests. Then 450 ml are sampled in a blood pocket !

2-  Then the blood is separated in its different constituents: red cells, platelets and blood plasma.

3-  With the sample bottle many tests are done to find the blood group and to check that there are no diseases in this blood.

4- The blood pockets are distributed in hospitals. Nurses can now do a blood transfusion to the patient.

How many time can blood's constituents be preserved? 

• red cells: 42 days
• platelets: 5 days
• blood plasma: several months

          My full name is Lo Brandon. I'm thirteen years old and my birthday is in two months. I live in Rillieux-la-Pape in France. It's next to Lyon. Albert Camus is my highschool.

          In English class, we are debating on school uniforms and the English system school. All the pupils have a part to play and there are 2 teams. One "against" and One "favour". As for me, I play a parent who are against! Haha... I wanted to be a pupil because I'm a pupil.

The English school system don't interest me just because of the uniform school which we have to wear, so I don't want to change our school system! Hi, I'm Cindy and I'm almost 16 years old. I was born on December 26th in Lyon and I love this city because it's really interesting and beautiful !! :) My brother is deaf and dumb, so I see him only on the week end because he studies at his boarding in Bourg-en-Bresse. It's so long so he stays here every weeks, but he comes home at the week end. I don't spend lot of time with him...

 I love go out with my friends, I spend a lot of time with them during the week end. Eventually I do my homework on sunday. I'm crazy about listening to music when I have nothing to do, or when I waiting for the bus. I have a cat and I love it. It take a lot of place in my life because I have my cat since 2003 so it's 7years old. 

On the one hand, I enjoy school because if I want to have a good job I must work seriously, and at school, you can make friends with a lot of people. On the other hand, I don't really like school because in a week, we spend most of the time there.

About school uniforms ;

I think wearing uniforms is useless because if you want to show your personnality you must wear clothes you like and you want to wear. I pity you because everybody would be the same.

Hi, I'm keny, I am a teenager (I'm sixteen years old). I'am six feet tall. I am of average build and I am all-right. I've got black hair and I have brown eyes. I usually wear casual clothes.

I'm a student. Actually I was in 10th grade

I live in Lyon in France. It is a city very beautiful visited

I consider myself bright, kind and nice . But on the other hand I consider myself quiet, very awkward and really unbearable. However, I make a lot of progress because I pities my friends.

 I have got three brother and one sister. My brothers are brave but always nervous. Whereas, my sister is intelligent, ambitious and generous. As for me, she is a model and reliable.

My favourite food is fast food: I'm crazy about drinking sodas and I can't bear eating vegetables: IT IS VERY HORRIBLE. But it is important for the health.
In addition, my favourite place is my bedroom because I like sleeping. I can't bear getting up early for to go to school. I really can't resist chocolate because it is soft and delicious. Also, I fell happy when I see my familly.

SCHOOL:

On the one hand, I enjoy going to school because it's important in order to have the final examination for get an interesting job in the future.

Besides, it allows me of to see my friends and the teachers are here in order to help me reach my purpose.
My objective it is of worked in the business because it's my dream. I think that I am lucky to be able to go to the school because poor children living in the third world still don't have access to school.

UNIFORMS:

In the french school system, we havewear casual clothes. But I think that it is necessary to wear it because students should be proud of their school. What's more, children today are too unruly and uniforms will encourage pupils to show more respect for teachers.

Eventually, If pupils wear uniforms, they concentration more on their work and their results get better.

SCHOOL

I don't really like school, it's so boring most of the time! I wouldn't like to wear a uniform at school. I want to wear what I want & what I like.

ABOUT ME

I watch a lot of movies and tv shows. Way too many actually ;) I'm currently watching about 10 different shows, such as Gossip Girl, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Entourage, The Walking Dead, The Office and many others...

Oh, and I absolutely adore music. I have many different tastes in music. I can listen to rock, hip hop, classic, pop, electro... Pretty much everything. Right now, I'm really into Kanye West's new record, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday". It's brilliant! Songs are truly catchy and really well written. Listen and I'm sure you'll looooooooove it! 

 

I play guitar! At least, I'm learning to. It's hard at the beggining, but I truly enjoy it.

I used to read a lot of books when I was a little bit younger, but I don't have much time to do it anymore =/

I'm Morgane.C, I'm 15 and I live in Lyon, in France and I love this city, but I often go to Paris during the week ends and during the holidays. 
I'm fond of Fashion and Art. Moreover I'm interested in West Coast's USA music and how the people live there, with all the gangs like Cripz and Bloodz, and the West Coast's music/ East Coast's music war. I LOOOOOOVE Tupac and hmm.. I don't know what to say more about me.

About school, I LOVE can't stand wake up early the morning to go to school. I don't like to go to school at all, exept to see my friends, but I think if we didn't have homeworks and tests I don't mind about go there or not. But in France it's OK because we don't have to wear uniforms. I think it's a good thing because we are free to wear the clothes we want, and don't represent any school. Wearing school uniforms is boring and not joyful because we all look the same.

       If you are reading my post you should know that my name is Marie, that I'm 15 years old and that I'm French. I'm a in 10th grade' student at Albert Camus high school in Rillieux. I live in “le Mas Rillier”, which is a little village 30min away from Lyon.  I don't really know what I want to do. I'm very interested in the circus and I like especially balancing exercises !!

I'm enjoy being in this class and I think that this year will be very good !!  I love scientific subjects and languages but I don't really like French. Our English teacher asked us to write some lines in this blog about school and uniforms !!    

  So, what do you think about school ?

          As for me, going to school is very important but if you go to school you must listen and work otherwise it's useless to go there !! In addition if you want to have a job that you like you must learn at school. Moreover, at school you can meet people and why not fall in love with somebody !! I really think that we are lucky to go to school. Many children can't go to school. Their parents don't have enough money to pay for clothes or school stationeries. There may be no school where they live or their parents want them to earn money instead of going to school. It's possible that they may become criminals. They'll may deal drugs to earn money and to survive! Fortunately some charities help them, even if it's not easy, to climb the social ladder.  

  What do you think about wearing uniforms?

I am going to give you my opinion:

    On the one hand, I'd like to wear a uniform because they last a long time and my parents would buy less clothes and we could do more activities like going on holidays for instance! Moreover I think that wearing uniforms would prepared us to our future life when we'll have to dress smartly.

    On the other hand, I disagree with wearing uniforms because each person can show one's personality with what one wears ! Thus if we wear the same clothes each day, how can we show our differences ?

It's a french highschool. I prefer the french system to the english system because we don't have to wear uniform. I would not like to wear a school uniform because I want to wear what I like. I don't think someone should tell me what to wear. It is not fair! As for me, highschool is where I study, not a place where I am told what to wear.
My favorite school subjects are History, French and English, as for me it is interesting; but I hate physics, chemistry and maths. In my opinion it's so boring! Moreover, I don't understand anything... But unfortunately, these subjects are very important.

I live in Rillieux la Pape. My high school is Albert Camus and it is in my city. My older junior school is Saint Charles. I prefer high school because we feel free here. I want to be a surgeon.

I am against the uniforms because I love wearing my casual clothes. It is obvious I prefer my casual clothes because they represent my personality. But I think school uniforms can stop inequalities at school because everybody wears school uniforms and the expensive casual clothes are forbidden. In addition, policemen can recognize the pupils if needed. In general people work more when they wear school uniforms. So I disagree with school uniforms but it may be interesting for poor families.

I French and Spanish too.
Since september I've been going to Albert Camus high school.

I think school uniforms are stupid because we go to school to study and not to look at people's clothes However it is everyone's choice but people think that if pupils wore uniforms , they would be more serious. I don't think that it's true! I'm happy because in my high school we wear the clothes we want :D'

At school I love Spanish , English and French.

But I dislike Maths & physics.
