VEGAS!




Las Vegas is one the most popular city in the world. Located in the state of Nevada in the USA, the city is in the middle of the Mojave Desert. English is the official language. The first inhabitants were the Mormons farmers, who settled down in the city in 1855. However, it officialy became a city in 1911. Las Vegas means "meadows" or "fertile valleys" in Spanish. 




 Vegas, also known as "Sin City", is mostly famous for its huge hotels and casinos.World's greatest hotels are in Vegas! On the 27 biggest hotels of the world, 20 belong to Las Vegas, such as The Venetian/Palazzo (more than 7 100 rooms), the MGM Grand (5000 rooms) and the Caesars Palace (3 348 rooms). Casinos are open to every person over 21. They're distributed on two areas : The Strip, on the Las Vegas Boulevard with the most recent hotels-casinos and Downtown, with the ancient ones.






Las Vegas welcomes about 36 millions people each year. Tourists usually like stay in one of the numerous hotels of the city. Daytime, you can visit the National Parks or the canyons by helicopter, and see the whole city from the sky!

 Nevertheless, there are also many things to do once the sun is down. Hundreds of shows, concerts, musicals and magic tricks are played around the city. The Cirque du Soleil is one the most popular show. Famous magicians David Copperfield and Criss Angel often do representations in Vegas too. Musicals, such as The Lion King, Mamma Mia and Don Arden's Jubilee!are amongst the most glorious shows in the Sin City.





The McCaran International Airport is the main airport of Las Vegas. A popular public transportation amongst the city's inhabitants and tourists is the Citizen Area Transit bus; with its diverse routes crossing a big part of the city, the CAT Bus transports nearly 175 000 persons per day. It represents 10% of the population of The Valley. The Deuce, a double decker bus, and the Las Vegas Monorail are two other means of transport often used.





We can't talk about Vegas without mentioning weddings! Each year, thousands of people get married in one of the city's "Little White Chapel". Weddings are often celebrated by people impersonating iconic persons, such as Elvis Presley!




 Las Vegas is also the temple of shopping with its majestics malls, such as the huge Fashion Show Mall. 
You can even find shopping center inside of hotels!

 Vegas has more than 315 days of sun a year!





 You can find absolutely EVERYTHING in Las Vegas! What are you waiting for to go to The Entertainment Capital of The World?

Cons : "Lots of bad influences -lots of bad habits to adopt - lots of sin"
